The seven deadly sins, also called seven capital sins or seven cardinal sins in Roman Catholic theology, are the seven vices that spur other sins and further immoral behaviour.
Fall from Grace is a series of photoshoots done for multiple editions of a magazine (Dazed). The series attempts to personify the 7 Cardinal Sins according to Roman Catholic theology.
According to the brief, the challenge was to capture all shots on PORTRAIT.
PRIDE
Issue #1
Pride or futility. It is considered the original and worst of the seven deadly sins on almost every list, the most demonic. It is also thought to be the source of the other capital sins. Pride is the opposite of humility.
GREED
Issue #2
A materialistic world full of selfishness, ego and greed has replaced love, kindness and compassion. Greed is applied to an artificial, rapacious desire as well as the pursuit of material possessions and stand in apposition to any manifestation of true happiness.
LUST
Issue#3
This edition of Dazed brings you into the world of entertainers and dancers, focusing on the aspect of one's pleasure, through the art of seduction. The deadly sin of lust is taken as a source of inspiration for this issue.
ENVY
Issue #4
Jealousy, Jealousy? The insatiable desire that leads to secret admiration, the sin of envy. This issue of DAZED elaborates on the star-eyed desires which bring out the spy in you, a game of Me, You, and Whom I Wish I Were.
GLUTTONY
Issue #5
The lust for food is a sinful pleasure, that harms oneself, often we seek sugar coated words to avoid bitter reality, but be careful! too much gobbling of sweet nothings is a shortcut to doom.
WRATH
Issue #6
The unimagined horror of stepping into a snare, the lashed-out red that follows, the sin of wrath is the topic of this issue of dazed. Righteous anger can become sinful, and everyone around us knows when that happens. But often, we can’t see it.
SLOTH
Issue #7
Lethargy of the mind and the body truly impedes greatness. The yearning for ease, the human longing for unwarranted facility, has been named a capital sin, and justifiably so. Sloth is a notorious vice because its behaviour (or lack thereof) is ungodly and prevents man from doing good deeds.
