We were given a theme - Retrofuturism and were asked to interpret it in the form of styling for a hypothetical client (Tinder in our case) of our choosing. We were also asked to appoint all roles in the shoot from that of a photographer and stylist to models and runners, from within the team itself.

Since I was also modelling for the shoot, the challenge was to direct myself and the other model. This was my first time directing myself and it gave me insight into how to instruct models efficiently in order to get some specific output and where to allow themselves to experiment in terms of posing and body language. By the end of the assignment, I had a deeper understanding about the functional parts of art direction when it comes to working with a subject.
